I work with adults through all sort of conditions including anxiety, trauma, stress, and grief. I want to help people from all walks of life with their experiences so that they can live the life they truly want to be living.
I do my best to provide a space that is safe and nonjudgmental, warm and inviting. What does that look like? It means that your feelings are valid, whatever they are. You are safe to express your thoughts and emotions and you will be validated for them. I try to have my office and virtual office as comfortable as possible for clients and make your time just for you. I will both support you as well as challenge you on your journey, to help you grow. Growing pains can be a part of therapy and you are not alone on this journey.
How do I work? While I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness Based approaches, I enjoy bringing in my education in yoga therapy when appropriate. Feel free to scroll over to the Therapies page if you want to learn more. Therapy isn’t one size fits all, so the approach depends on what you want to work on!
My greatest passion is helping people find the freedom to be their authentic selves, using an individualized, holistic, mind-body approach. We’re not all cut from the same rock, so we can’t all be treated that way!
I have worked with people coping with a wide range of issues including sexual trauma, addiction, domestic violence, depression and anxiety, as well as with those seeking personal growth, general wellness and a deeper expression of their identity.
I find that finding a good match with a therapist can be a difficult and daunting task. It’s also one that should be personal and deliberate. I always encourage clients (mine or not) to give their therapeutic relationships a couple sessions. First impressions are not the “end all, be all” after all.
First sessions entail a lot, so whether you connect with me or someone else, give yourself the space and permission to get to know your therapist for a couple sessions and remember…if after that, you don’t click? It’s ok! It’s your progress that matters in the end. Your mental health and nothing else.
“Live in Authenticity - Teach from Knowledge - Heal with Warmth”
Life can be overwhelming, exhausting & disconnecting. Do you feel generally upside down? These emotions are real, & you are not alone. Life throws a lot at you. Sometimes, it’s too much and the worries, stress, fears and doubts pile up. This can be present in your relationships at work, at home or in your family. Do you want to work on things that you long ago put to the side? Past loss & grief, traumatic events or things you said you’d work on but haven’t gotten around to, yet?
I believe that we all have strengths that we can tap into to help us. We have the ability to learn skills to help us cope with our circumstances. As a licensed clinical social worker and yoga therapist/instructor, I am passionately interested in how our we hold onto our traumas and other life moments. Psychotherapy is not easily described in broad strokes. It varies on your personality, mine and the concerns you are bringing into the room. Let’s see if we’re a good match!
